Glenn Ray - surgery

Glenn Ray Jones is scheduled for surgery on his upper back this coming Monday, February 16.  He had been experiencing severe pain in his arm plus loss of feeling in his right fingers since just after Christmas.  The procedure will be at Rex Hospital (UNC) in Raleigh and he is expecting to be there for two nights.  In typical Glenn Ray fashion, he told me that over the past years the surgeons had pretty well covered the front part of his body (jaw, knees, heart, etc.) and now they were starting on his back.  The surgeon told him he could expect relief from pain within a few days after surgery.  His home phone is (919) 776-1083.   Thanks to Sonny Humphrey for alerting me to this.

We're going to have to sign Sonny Humphrey up on this blog - he seems to keep up with us well. Best to Glenn Ray - he needs to be up and atem by this year's barbeque season.

I know Glenn Ray will do well and will be happy to get some relief. Pain is a very bad companion. Thanks for keeping us advised on the goings on, Keith and Sonny.

Ouch, no fun for sure. But after talking to Glenn Ray at the Reunion I am certain he will take this in stride. Wishing him a pain free and beautiful spring season.

In fact I wish that for all of us.

Somebody put up some really good news soon - for a starter that Glenn Ray is doing really, really well would do.

Charlotte - I agree. Maybe we need to get back to the weather.

Just had a note from Sonny Humphrey that he had talked with Glenn Ray - already home from the hospital, and doing fine.

Good news, Lucy, thanks to Sonny and you for passing this along. I hope Glenn Ray recovers soon and will get back to barbequeing!

Lucy, thank you for a lovely ray of sunshine in the middle of the February glooms.

Wishing Glenn Ray a speedy recovery - I know he is glad to have this behind him.

Glad to hear the news that Glenn Ray is home. We wish you well, Glenn Ray. Maybe you are finished now that they've worked on your back.
