Sanibel

just after sunset at Bowmans Beach, Sanibel Island, Florida

Donna and I just returned from a week on Sanibel Island, Florida and had a great time enjoying the warm weather, flowers, shells, and birds.  She came home with a great collection of shells from the beach, and I came home with some nice photos of the wading birds and shorebirds there.  You can check out the photos by clicking here.   We're back to the cold and snow and gray skies of western Massachusetts, yikes!  Should have stayed longer...

Keith, this is my favorite part of the world - if I could live anywhere I chose - somewhere on the Gulf would be my choice - it is the soup from which life arose or so it seems to me, especially at sunset when the water takes on colors that one does not associate with water at all.

I loved your new bird pictures - you are a gifted photographer but you have also chosen my favorite creatures - the descendants of the dinosaurs. Nothing is ever lost - just changed - sometimes in wonderful ways.

Keith, This is a beautiful shot. I'm sitting and staring at it, particularly this day, - cold, dismal, rainy, with snow predicted tonight, - and trying to recapture the warmth of more southern sites.
