Berks was with us at our class reunion in October, was recovering from knee surgery and retained his unique style of humor. In addition to Cathy and Mack, Berks is survived by his sister Ann Gordon Brown Kemp.

Keith - Thanks for again keeping us informed. Ann Gordon's email is kempfarms@epbnet.com if any of you would like to send her a note.
I am so very sorry to hear this news.
My one exchange with Berks at the reunion was in regard to his "special brand of humor" as I recalled it from kindergarten days - I think our class is somewhat unique in that while it may have been interrupted for many of us in adulthood, we have a longer history together than most.
Thank you for keeping us informed, Keith. I do think this "blog" was well done on your part.
Berks and I, like Keith and I, graduated from kindergarten, 8th grade, high school, and college together. He and Lois lived in the next building at Cooperstown, married student housing. Through all of the ups and downs of the years, we kept up. Our parents were dear friends and once Daddy brought back Berks' dirty laundry to Corinne while we were still students and not married. Later, he missed his glasses. Not long after that, the glasses were found in Corinne's closet. I know you can imagine how much laughter that caused the Brown and Piper houses. I cannot believe that he is gone. Every day is precious, and I am so glad that we all got to see him at the reunion.
Ann P.
I am so sorry to hear of Berks death. At the reunion, he gave Earl and me a lesson in history--history of the house where we were, the house he had lived in as a child, and some Russellville history. Yes, life is precious, and unpredictable.
