Fifteen years old - 1955. Assuming our pictures were made in the Fall in those years, - The Honeymooners and Alfred Hitchcock premiered on television; and top songs were Sixteen Tons, Rock Around the Clock, Ain't that a Shame, Moments to Remember, and The Yellow Rose of Texas.

...and I was "learning" algebra from Miss Mobley. Oh. My.

Wow, weren't we young? I remember going to all state chorus in Lexington and the conductor's directing us in "Sixteen Tons" as a break from whatever classical we were practicing. We were learning to drive. My daddy was trying to teach me to park the car between two weeds at the depot. I still parallel park poorly but can do it. We were skinny and unlined of face. Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end...

Had not even thought about learning to drive, a milestone. And gas was $.29 a gallon.
