I'm still looking for a shot showing Andrew's Drug Store. This one doesn't quite make it, but still nice - also from the 1930's.
This blog is for 1958 graduates of Russellville High School (Ky.), family, friends and other RHS graduates who are interested. If you fit in this category, feel free to post your comments, thoughts, responses to other posts, news from your famiily, related photos, etc.

Lucy, this one must have been taken from about Third Street looking south toward the park, with Leedoms on the left. Is the Coca-Cola sign marking a drug store, is it Andrews, where Hancocks was latwr? My memory is hazy about this.
Yes, it is from the southwest corner of 3rd and Main. The Coca-Cola sign would mark Cooksey's Grocery Store (later Hancock's). Andrews was on the east side, north of Leedom's. The Andrews Building burned and was the site of the Alumni Association Friday night event. First Southern Bank (formerly Citizens) acquired the location and created the courtyard, maintaining the upper part of the facade, - a nice innovative solution. Just glad they didn't clear and make a parking lot.
And, by the way, Mark Griffin is currently working on a book about Gaines Cooksey and would love to hear memories any of you might have.
